Özgür Kaya

Özgür Kaya has worked in a variety of roles since 2002. Özgür began their career as an Intern at Nortel Netas in 2002. Özgür then moved on to become a Research Assistant at Koç University in the same year, where they were responsible for the characterization of micro scanning mirrors, the setup of apparatus, measurements, and documentation. In 2003, they took on an Intern role at Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems where they were responsible for the characterization of micro scanning mirrors, the investigation of damping behavior, and software enhancements for measurement control and analysis. In 2007, they became a Research Assistant at Erasmus MC (Experimental Echocardiography Group). Finally, in 2018, they took on the role of Managing Director at GlakoLens.

Özgür Kaya began their educational career in 1992 when they attended Deutsche Schule Istanbul / Alman Lisesi, where they studied Classical Sciences. Özgür then went on to Koç University, where they obtained a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2004. In 2005, they attended both Delft University of Technology, where they obtained an MSc in Biomedical Engineering, and Leiden University, where they did not obtain a degree. Özgür is currently enrolled in Boğaziçi University, where they are pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, which they expect to complete in 2023. In addition to their formal education, Özgür Kaya has obtained several certifications, including Design, Modeling and Fabrication Techniques for Micro-optics: Applications to Display, Imaging, Sensing and Metrology from SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, in 2017; MPM-19 Project Management Training from Mentor Project Management in 2013; Applied Entrepreneurship Training from KOSGEB in 2013; Methodology in Clinical Investigation Training from the Turkish Anesthesiology and Reanimation Association in 2012; Occupational Safety Specialist (Class C) from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (Republic of Turkey) in 2012; and Laboratory Animal Experimentation Certificate from Istanbul University in 2011.
