Claire Hulsen

Vice Principal Strategy & Planning at Glasgow Caledonian University

Claire Hulsen is the Vice-Principal for Strategy and Planning with responsibility for providing leadership for strategy, planning, and business intelligence, and strategic engagement with the Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Government and Universities Scotland. She also provides leadership to the Strategy, Planning and Business Intelligence team.

Claire has a wealth of experience in strategic planning, performance monitoring, policy analysis and external insight across the UK and Scottish Higher Education sectors. She holds a Bachelors and Master’s Degree of Social Sciences from University College Dublin. Prior to joining Glasgow Caledonian University as Executive Adviser to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, and later, the Director of Strategy and Planning, Claire held the roles of Research Officer at Universities Scotland and Research Assistant at the UCD Graduate Business School.

Claire has worked closely, over many years, with key stakeholders at government level and in the higher and further education sectors, and has contributed to a range of expert groups supporting national policy developments across a range of key areas.
