Chief Operating Officer & Deputy Vice-Chancellor Operations at Glasgow Caledonian University

Susan Mitchell is the current Chief Operating Officer at Glasgow Caledonian University. Susan has held this position since January 2016. Prior to that, they were the Chief Operating Officer at the University of the West of Scotland from January 2016 to September 2018. Before that, they were the Director Corporate Services at Police Scotland from April 2013 to December 2015. Susan Mitchell has also worked as a Principal Inspection Manager at HM Inspectorate of Constabulary for Scotland from July 2007 to December 2009.

Susan Mitchell has a MSc in Public Management from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, a Postgrad Dip in Public Finance & Leadership from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, a CPFA in Accounting from CIPFA/ Warwick Business School, and a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD). Susan also has a BA (Ed) Hons in Education/ Science from the University of Exeter.
