Louis "Louie" Alexander has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Louis "Louie" began their career as a Research Associate and Project Manager at Teachers College, Columbia University, where they supported program design and development for international education projects. Louis "Louie" later joined CARE, where they held various roles from Program Manager to Country Director, managing long-term overseas assignments in several countries and overseeing programs in areas such as micro-enterprise development, education, youth development, and health.

Alexander also worked as the Senior Programs Director and Country Director at the Pan American Development Foundation, where they supervised development and humanitarian programs in multiple countries and led new business capture and program design efforts. Louis "Louie" then served as the Country Director for the Peace Corps, managing strategic and program objectives for one of their largest posts globally.

In their most recent position, Alexander worked as the Principal Associate at Banyan Global, where they were responsible for managing and providing support to various projects, including a $20 million USAID youth workforce development project in Honduras. Louis "Louie" also provided technical and managerial support in other countries for projects related to gender and youth integration, livelihoods, agriculture, and education. Currently, Alexander is the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Representative in Washington, DC for Glasswing International.

Louis "Louie" Alexander completed their Master's degree in Education and International Development at Teachers College, Columbia University from 1981 to 1985. In 1977, they briefly attended Uppsala University, focusing on Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. Prior to that, from 1975 to 1976, they obtained a Certificate in Spanish Language, History, and Culture Studies from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
