Gerhard Panzer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Gerhard began their career as a Manager in Production Planning at Leykam Mürztaler AG before moving on to roles as a Process Engineer and Process Manager at Norske Skog. Gerhard then became a Manager for Process and Quality Management at Norske Skog Bruck, where they were also responsible for mill R&D. Gerhard went on to serve as a Total Project Manager for a new LWC paper and pulp mill in Europe, and later became the Manager of Global R&D Coating and Deputy Director of Global R&D at NORSKE SKOGINDUSTRIER ASA. Gerhard then worked at Norske Skog Albury as the Production Manager of the Paper and Pulp Mill and Deputy Managing Director. Gerhard also held the position of Senior Project Manager and Specialist Continuous Improvement at Norske Skog, leading projects in Austria, Germany, Norway, Thailand, and Malaysia. Gerhard then served as the Manager of a paper mill at Sappi Ehingen GmbH before their current role as the Technical Director of Wetlaid Operations & Sontara at Glatfelter. Throughout their career, Gerhard has gained experience in various areas, such as technical management, project management, continuous improvement, and process and quality management.

Gerhard Panzer obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Technical University Graz, Austria, from 1976 to 1984.
