Fiona Behan

Fiona Behan PhD is a seasoned professional in the field of oncology and molecular medicine, currently serving as Director at GSK since October 2019, following roles as Associate Director and Scientific Leader. Prior experience includes a tenure at the Wellcome Sanger Institute from December 2014 to September 2019, where Fiona led the identification of novel oncology drug targets through CRISPR-Cas9 genome-scale cell line screens and developed a high throughput screening pipeline. Previous positions as Senior Staff Scientist and Research Fellow at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge involved significant advancements in RNA extraction and profiling techniques. Fiona also completed post-doctoral research at Trinity College Dublin and earned a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the same institution, following a BSc in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from University College Dublin.
