Zhongyuan Kan

Investigator, Biophysics at GSK

Zhongyuan Kan, Ph.D, is an experienced biophysicist currently serving as an Investigator in Biophysics at GSK since February 2020, focusing on R&D Medicine Design. Prior experience includes a role as a Scientist in Analytical Development & QC at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc., where Zhongyuan Kan contributed to biopharmaceutical development through analytical method development and quality control of therapeutic antibodies. At the University of Pennsylvania, Zhongyuan Kan held multiple positions, including Senior Research Investigator in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics and PCI Fellow at the Penn Center for Innovation, where assessments of technology inventions were conducted. Additional roles included Research Associate and Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on hydrogen-deuterium exchange methodology, protein folding studies, and utilizing NMR and mass spectrometry. Zhongyuan Kan holds a Ph.D in Biophysics and a B.S. in Biochemistry from Wuhan University, as well as postdoctoral training from the University of Pennsylvania.
