Catherine Pattenden, PhD, is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in social performance and human rights within the extractive industries. Currently serving as the Global General Manager of Social Performance and Human Rights at Glencore, Catherine also leads the Community and Human Rights efforts for Zinc. Prior roles include Director and Principal Consultant at AliCat Pty Ltd, External Relations Specialist at Newmont Mining Corporation, and various academic positions at Curtin University and The University of Queensland. Catherine's academic background includes a PhD in Anthropology from The University of Western Australia, and contributions to significant research on community relations in the mining sector. Catherine has also enhanced their capabilities through ongoing education at Curtin University and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
