Lindsey Dorfman has a diverse work experience in library services. Lindsey started their career as a Reference Assistant at Saline District Library in 2004. Lindsey then moved on to Forest Park Public Library, where they served as the Youth Services Manager from 2006 to 2009. At Lisle Library District, Lindsey held the position of Director of Youth Services from 2009 to 2014, leading a team of 16 staff members and overseeing youth services' materials circulation. Lindsey then became the Director of Allegan District Library from 2014 to 2016. Lindsey's most recent role is as the Director of Branch Services at Kent District Library, a position they held from 2016 to July 2020. Currently, Lindsey is the Library Director at Glenview Public Library, starting in July 2020.
Lindsey Dorfman has a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from Wayne State University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology at Western Michigan University from 1998 to 2002. Lindsey has also obtained additional certifications including the Class Highest Achievement Award from Dale Carnegie Training in December 2015. Lindsey also completed the Dale Carnegie Course, although the specific month and year of completion are not provided.
