Joel Spolsky has an extensive work history, beginning with their role as a Program Manager at Microsoft in 1991. Joel then worked as a Consultant for Viacom Interactive Services in 1995, followed by a Software Team Lead at Juno in 1996. In 2000, they were the Chairman and Co-founder of Glitch (formerly Fog Creek Software), helping the world's best developers make better software. In 2008, they became Chairman and CEO and Co-founder of Stack Overflow, helping the world's developers learn, share their knowledge, and level up. In 2014, they were Chairman and Co-founder of Trello. Most recently, they are Co-Founder of HASH in 2019.

Joel Spolsky attended Yale University from 1988 to 1991, where they earned their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
