Christine Hanson currently serves as the Regional Director of International Trade for Atlantic Canada at Global Affairs Canada, a position held since August 2023. Previously, Christine was the Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer of the Mass Casualty Commission from February 2021 to August 2023, and prior to that, served as Chief Executive Officer of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for five years. Christine's diplomatic experience includes tenure as Minister-Counsellor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, DC, and as Director of the Treaty Law Division at Global Affairs Canada. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree in International Law from Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law, a Master's in Public Administration, and a Bachelor's in International Relations, all acquired from Dalhousie University.
