Lorraine Diguer

Lorraine Diguer is an accomplished diplomat currently serving as Canada's Ambassador to Tunisia and Director of Education and Social Development at Global Affairs Canada since September 2017. In this role, Lorraine leads a team focused on fostering relations with Canadian organizations in the education and social development sectors, supporting collaborative development initiatives in developing countries. Previous positions include Director of Peace Operations and Stabilization Policy, where Lorraine contributed to Canada's peace-building efforts, and Counsellor at the Canadian Mission to the EU, enhancing the bilateral relationship with the European Union. Lorraine also held the position of Director of the Consular Case Management Division during a challenging period marked by international crises. Lorraine holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Political Science from the University of Ottawa.
