Mark McLaughlin

Mark McLaughlin is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in communications, policy research, and strategic planning within Global Affairs Canada and the Privy Council Office. Currently serving as Director of Outreach and Engagement, McLaughlin leads initiatives to promote Canadian foreign policy domestically. Previous positions include Director of International Policy Research and Foresight, where research informed senior leadership, and Director of Strategic Planning at the Protocol Bureau, which adapted operations post-COVID. Additional roles include Counsellor for Public Affairs at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin and Director of the North America Advocacy Division, focusing on key advocacy themes. McLaughlin holds a BA in History from Trent University, a diploma in Journalism from Algonquin College, and a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
