Miro Cupak

Miro Cupak is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in the fields of genomics and biomedical data. As Co-founder and CTO at DNAstack since 2014, Miro leads the development of products designed for the efficient search, access, and analysis of large volumes of genomic data. Concurrently, Miro serves as Product Lead at the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health, where responsibilities include developing standards for global genomic services and federated searches of biomedical data. Previous roles include Software Engineer at Red Hat, where Miro enhanced the Jenkins continuous integration server, and IBM, where a client integration solution was developed for the fintech domain. Miro's academic qualifications include multiple degrees from Masaryk University, University of Toronto, and international study visits to Aalborg University and University College Dublin, focusing on computer science and related disciplines.

The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) is an international, nonprofit alliance formed in 2013 to accelerate the potential of research and medicine to advance human health. Bringing together 500+ leading organizations working in healthcare, research, patient advocacy, life science, and information technology, the GA4GH community is working together to create frameworks and standards to enable the responsible, voluntary, and secure sharing of genomic and health-related data. All of our work builds upon the Framework for Responsible Sharing of Genomic and Health-Related Data.
