Mariel Vilella

Mariel Vilella is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in climate policy and environmental advocacy. Currently serving as the Director of the Global Climate Program at GAIA, Mariel is responsible for developing and implementing global climate strategies, coordinating member engagement, and leading delegations at international meetings. Prior experience includes roles as the Simon Industrial and Professional Fellowship recipient at the Sustainable Consumption Institute, Director of Global Strategy at Zero Waste Europe, and Vice Chair of International Affairs at the United Kingdom Without Incineration Network. Mariel has also held positions with Carbon Market Watch, European Youth for Action, and has contributed significantly to climate-related publications.
