Rod Beckstrom

Rod Beckstrom is a seasoned entrepreneur and expert in cybersecurity, internet governance, and geopolitics, currently serving as the Founder and CEO of The Rod Beckstrom Group since June 2001. As Co-Founder and Initial Chairman of Cequence Security, Rod has significantly contributed to the field of API cybersecurity, helping the company raise $90 million. Rod held the position of President and CEO at ICANN from 2009 to 2012 and has actively participated in the World Economic Forum since 1992 as an expert in cybersecurity and geopolitics. Rod's influence extends to environmental advocacy as a Board Trustee of the Environmental Defense Fund, while also serving as the United States Ambassador for the Global Blockchain Business Council. A co-author of the best-selling book "The Starfish and The Spider," Rod has spoken at TED Conferences and served as the Chief Security Advisor for Samsung Electronics, leading global cybersecurity strategy. Rod holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in Economics, with notable educational experiences as a Fulbright Scholar.
