Melissa Janis

Melissa Janis is a seasoned professional in strategic partnerships and resource mobilization, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Resource Mobilization at The Global Development Incubator since July 2024. With extensive experience in philanthropy, Melissa has previously worked as a Philanthropy Advisor for Foundations and Philanthropies, and as the Executive Director of the lemlem Foundation, where responsibilities included overseeing women's job training and health initiatives. Earlier roles include Senior Manager positions at Pfizer and Alcoa, focusing on corporate responsibility and international grant making respectively. Melissa began a career in public service with USAID and the U.S. Department of State, managing significant projects and funding initiatives. Academic credentials feature a Master’s degree in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Miami University.
