Georgia Orenstein manages more than 30 active grants, collaborating across teams to ensure the successful execution of project deliverables, budget allocations, subgrants, reporting and renewals. Previously, she worked for Global Fishing Watch as the operations and grants coordinator. Georgia has five years of experience in the nonprofit sector with a background in marine science and communications.
Prior to joining Global Fishing Watch, Georgia worked at Global Health Corps on the communications and advocacy team, promoting health equity and leadership development. She also spent a year in Washington, D.C. at Oceana, supporting both the illegal fishing and seafood fraud campaigns. Georgia graduated from Duke University with a bachelor of science degree in biology, focusing on environmental science and policy and marine conservation. She spent a semester at the Duke University Marine Lab, and another in Prague studying art and architecture.
