Julia Orkin

Julia became passionate about educational equity through her experience growing up and attending public schools K-12 in Atlanta, GA. As a high school student, Julia learned how formative and impactful travel can be when she had the opportunity to live and learn for 2 months in Granada, Nicaragua. Her experiences overseas as well as what she saw in her school back home instilled a deep conviction in ensuring all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Since then, she has spent her career working to provide access and opportunity to all students, both as an 8th-grade teacher and by working in education non-profits. Throughout her career working in education, Julia has developed a love for people operations and a passion for fostering equity-centered workplaces. As the Director of People Operations, Julia works to live into Global Glimpse’s belief that “Our People Are Everything” by leading the strategies, systems, and customs that help make Global Glimpse an incredible place to work for people from all backgrounds. Julia holds a B.A. in English from Colby College and a Master of Education from Lipscomb University.
