Jim Cleary

Jim Cleary is a Managing Director at GIP, working primarily with the New York team on North American midstream and utility matters.

Prior to joining GIP in 2012, Mr. Cleary spent 33 years in the oil and gas industry, where he held several senior positions including President of El Paso Corporation’s Western Pipeline Group and President of ANR Pipeline Company. He also served on the Executive Committee at El Paso Corporation from 2006 to 2012. Previously, Mr. Cleary was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Southern Natural Gas Company. Mr. Cleary holds a B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is a director of Gibson Energy Inc. and chairs the Board’s EH&S Committee.
