Mercedes Stephenson

Mercedes Stephenson is a seasoned Canadian journalist with extensive experience in political reporting and broadcasting. Currently serving as the Ottawa Bureau Chief and host of The West Block at Global News since June 2018, Mercedes previously worked at CTV National News as a parliamentary reporter and Friday host of Power Play from July 2011 to June 2018. Additional roles include national columnist for Sun Media and vice president at Breakout Educational Network. With a strong educational background, Mercedes holds a Master's in Strategic Studies from the University of Calgary, complemented by studies at prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Calgary, and Georgetown University.
