Joyce Shi is an accomplished intern and leader in the field of economics and finance, currently serving as an Economic Policy Intern at the Council of Economic Advisers, The White House since September 2024. Additionally, Joyce holds the position of Portfolio Sector Leader at Global Platinum Securities, focusing on the healthcare sector, and previously gained experience as a Private Equity Summer Analyst at American Securities. Joyce has also contributed to Girls Who Invest as a SIP Scholar and Campus Ambassador. Leadership roles include serving as Chief Development Officer at Smart Woman Securities and seminar leader at Harvard College Association for U.S.-China Relations. Joyce is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Computer Science at Harvard University, complementing academic foundations established at the University of Oxford and Pittsford-Mendon High School.

Global Platinum Securities™ (GPS) is a unique intercollegiate student-run investment company that seeks to educate the next generation of investors by immersing them in the field of active investment management. Its student members hail from eight renowned universities across North America and Western Europe. Upon induction to the group students participate in a structured ten-week summer education program that exposes them to security selection, company and industry analysis, portfolio construction and valuation philosophies. Commensurate with our mantra of learning by doing, members are divided into eight industry sector groups and perform equity research under the leadership and guidance of fellow members and professional mentors. The group seeks capital preservation and income generation by employing a bottom-up, value oriented philosophy.
