Laurence Lafond

Laurence, CISSP, is responsible for leading Global Relay’s information security team. In his role as Chief Information Security Officer, Laurence ensures that Global Relay’s comprehensive operations and services adhere to strict international security standards. Laurence is responsible for Global Relay’s Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC), which monitors Global Relay’s operations 24/7/365. As Senior Information Security Manager, Laurence ensures world class security controls, engages with key stakeholders and customers to demonstrate how Global Relay protects customer data, and evaluates emerging threats and trends in IT security.

Laurence has extensive experience in IT operations and has worked for over ten years in the telecommunications industry, where he earned Top Secret (Level III) status. Prior to joining Global Relay, Laurence has worked with a variety of companies based throughout the U.S. and Canada. Most recently, Laurence provided a comprehensive information security program for Allstream in Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Toronto. He has direct experience managing ISO 27000, PCI DSS, SAS70, CSAE-3416, SSAE-16, and SOC. Laurence holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
