Ian Volans

Ian Volans is an integral part of GRC’s European team, bringing an in-depth understanding of the commercial, operational and technological realities of the mobile industry. His career in telecommunications includes in-house roles with Vodafone, One 2 One (subsequently T-Mobile UK and now EE), and the GSM Association. In recent years, while providing communications support to the Global Certification Forum, he has worked in areas such as IoT (Internet of Things), critical communications, RCS (rich communication services), and remote SIM (subscriber identity module) provisioning. He also has significant experience in the convergence of the telecommunications and digital media industries and the transitioning of content creation workflows from proprietary hardware connected via SDI to COTS-based systems connected by IP.
