Nezihe Aquino

Nezihe Aquino is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in risk management and operational leadership. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Global Risk Institute since September 2024, Nezihe previously held prominent roles at Vancity, including Chief Risk Officer and Interim CEO, where leadership was demonstrated during significant organizational changes and macroeconomic shifts. Nezihe managed a large team responsible for overseeing credit risk on a $23 billion loan portfolio, articulated risk appetite, and ensured compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, Nezihe's tenure at Vancity included optimizing retail operations, significantly growing funds under management, and developing fiscal planning frameworks. Prior experience includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Vancity Community Investment Bank and VP of Business Performance at Bank of America. Nezihe holds an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
