Benjamin Goodman

Benjamin Goodman has gained extensive work experience over the years. Benjamin started their career as a Research Technician at the University of Virginia in 2004, where they worked on the Rhodobacter capsulatus Gene Transfer Agent and Rhodobacter sphaeroides photosynthetic reaction center. After that, they joined the Carnegie Institution for Science in 2005 as a Predoctoral Fellow, where they focused on understanding the role of lamin in spindles formed in Xenopus egg extract and characterized embryonic stem cells and differentiated lines taken from mice lacking lamin Bs. During their time at Carnegie Institution, they also worked on various aspects related to in vitro cell extract systems, molecular motor biochemistry, microscopy, automated image analysis development and application, biopolymers, antibody production and purification, primary and immortalized cell culture, and micropatterned cell substrates. In 2012, they joined the National Institutes of Health as an IRTA Post-doctoral Fellow. Finally, they currently serve as a Senior Scientist at Global Science & Technology, Inc.

Benjamin Goodman obtained a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from The Johns Hopkins University, where they studied from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Virginia, completing their studies from 2000 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained several certifications, including "Programming Mobile Applications for Android Handheld Systems" from Coursera in March 2014, "Cryptography I" from Coursera in May 2013, "Game Theory" from Coursera in February 2013, "CompTIA A+" from CompTIA in November 2013, and "CompTIA Network+" from CompTIA in August 2015.
