Jack Rhodes

Jack Rhodes has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and geographic information systems (GIS). Jack currently serves as a Software/Systems Engineer at Global Science & Technology, Inc, where they are responsible for building the Geohub, an open data platform for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Jack previously worked at KBR, Inc. as a Geospatial Data Analyst, where they played a key role in various projects such as migrating data sets to the AWS Cloud, developing custom dashboards for data visualization and cost monitoring, and creating infrastructure-as-code cloud resources using AWS CloudFormation.

Prior to that, Jack gained experience as a GIS Intern at the City of Lynchburg, where they contributed to GIS projects. Jack also worked as a Science & Advocacy Intern at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, where they gained knowledge in environmental science and advocacy.

Jack Rhodes obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University from 2016 to 2019. Jack then pursued a degree in Computer Science and is currently enrolled at Western Governors University since 2021. In addition to their education, Jack has obtained several certifications, including the "CompTIA Project+ Certification" from CompTIA in January 2022, "Python: XML, JSON, and the Web" from LinkedIn in November 2019, "Learning ArcGIS Python Scripting" from LinkedIn in October 2019, "SQL Essential Training" from LinkedIn in October 2019, and "Programming Foundations: Real-World Examples" from Lynda.com in August 2018.
