Stuart MacCallum

Technical Project Manager at Global Surface Intelligence Ltd.

Stuart MacCallum has worked in the field of remote sensing science since 2001. Stuart began their career as a Research Associate at The University of Edinburgh, where they developed software for satellite-based sea surface temperature observation and cloud screening. Stuart then worked as a Research Associate for Climate Model Analysis and Field Spectroscopy at the same university. In 2015, they joined ASTORSAT as an Earth Observation Specialist, where they researched and developed satellite remote sensing applications. In 2016, they moved to Forest Research as a Spatial Scientist. Since 2018, they have been working as a Technical Lead and Principal Remote Sensing Specialist at Global Surface Intelligence, where they lead and coordinates day-to-day technical delivery, is the subject matter expert for remote sensing science and remote sensing data processing, supports business development and sales functions, and develops and guides scientific and technical solutions to support delivery of data products and achieving commercial goals.

Stuart MacCallum received their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics from the University of Strathclyde between 1996 and 2000. Stuart then obtained their Master of Science (MSc) in Remote Sensing and Image Processing from The University of Edinburgh between 2000 and 2001. Finally, they received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from The University of Edinburgh between 2004 and 2008.
