Kenneth McAvey

Kenneth McAvey has extensive work experience in the semiconductor industry. Kenneth currently holds the role of VP and GM of Fab 9 at GlobalFoundries since November 2021. Prior to this, they served as Senior Director of Fab 9 Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance, where they led a team of 500 employees to improve operational performance and optimize factory performance through cross-functional leadership with supply chain, procurement, and sales. Kenneth also held the position of Senior Director of Central Engineering at GlobalFoundries, driving cross-factory sharing and problem-solving initiatives. Before joining GlobalFoundries, Kenneth had a successful career at IBM, where they held various senior management positions, including Director of 200mm Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance, Capital and Capacity Manager, and Senior Engineering Manager in Technology Development and Process Integration.

Kenneth McAvey obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University, where they attended from 1993 to 1997. Kenneth later pursued a Masters of Science degree in Engineering & Global Operations Management from the same university, completing it between 2006 and 2008.
