Michael Volpato

Michael Volpato has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning across various industries. Michael currently holds the position of VP of Data Science & Research Technology at GWI since September 2023. Prior to that, they served as the VP of Data Science at the same company from January 2022 to October 2023.

Before joining GWI, Michael founded Scopy in 2016, where they implemented a stable bipartite matching algorithm for Queensland Tertiary Admissions Council (QTAC), saving them two months of manual work annually. Michael also built a deep convolution neural network (CNN) algorithm for sentiment analysis using TensorFlow and scikit-learn.

From 2018 to 2022, Michael worked at Brandwatch, holding various positions including Vice President of Product Strategy, Senior Director of Product Management | Principal Data Scientist | Strategic Partnerships, and Technical Product Manager | Lead Data Scientist. During their time at Brandwatch, they were responsible for developing strategic data partnerships, overseeing product development and management, and driving research and development initiatives.

Michael worked as a Professor at Fordham University from 2012 to 2017, focusing on research in the theory of automorphic forms and having notable achievements in topological data analysis. Warschawski Assistant Professor at UCSD.
