Alex Douglas

Alex Douglas is the Managing Director and Head of Western Africa at Globeleq, a position held since August 2011, where significant contributions include the development and acquisition of over 1,000 MW of power generation capacity. Douglas has been instrumental in advancing Globeleq's operations in Western Africa and serves on the boards of several energy companies, including Azito Energie SA and Kribi Power Development Company SA. Previous roles include Director of Business Development at Globeleq, where achievements encompassed leading major acquisitions and projects recognized with industry awards. Prior experience includes director roles at AES focusing on energy project development in Europe and Africa, corporate counsel at Entergy Corporation, and earlier legal experience at Linklaters and engineering roles at BP. Education encompasses an MSc in Management from London Business School, a PG Dip in Law from the University of Bristol, and a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Manchester.
