Joel Cryder has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Joel started their career at ATK in 2008, where they worked as a Preliminary Design Engineer and later as a Project Engineer, responsible for developing requirements and creating designs for various applications. In 2012, they became a Valve Design Engineer at ATK.
In 2013, Joel joined Globus Medical, initially as a Project Engineer for the Access Team, where they collaborated with surgeon teams to design and launch strategic products for spinal fusion. In 2017, they were promoted to Senior Project Engineer for the Posterior Interbody Fusion group, leading the development of lumbar retractor systems and spinal implants. This role involved overseeing the entire product lifecycle, including design, testing, FDA approval, manufacturing, and post-market surveillance.
In 2019, Joel took on the position of Group Engineer Manager for the Posterior Interbody Fusion group at Globus Medical, where they managed a team and contributed to the development of new products. More recently, in 2020, they assumed the role of Director of Product Development - Trauma at Globus Medical.
Joel Cryder earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008.
