Juha Haaja has extensive experience in the field of medical device research and development. Juha started their career as a Research Assistant at Aalto University in 2007 and worked there until 2013 in various roles, including Researcher and Research Assistant. During their time at Aalto University, they focused on developing innovative active implantable medical devices for procedures such as distraction osteogenesis. In 2008, they also worked as a Research Engineer at the Orton Research Institute.
In 2012, Haaja founded Synoste Oy, a Finnish startup that develops and sells medical solutions for skeletal deformities. As the Technology Director and Founder of Synoste, they introduced a less painful and more precise treatment device for limb lengthening procedures. This new device significantly reduced complications and enabled faster recovery for patients.
Currently, Haaja is working at Globus Medical as the Technology Director for International Advanced Technologies. Juha joined the company in 2020 and is leveraging their expertise to drive technological advancements in the medical field. Overall, Haaja's work experience demonstrates their strong background in medical device research and development, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
Juha Haaja obtained their M.Sc. degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, where they studied from 2004 to 2010.
