Lydia Buehrer has over twelve years of professional work experience in the engineering field. In 2007, they began their career as a Land Development Intern at McKim & Creed, PA, where they used Land CAD to correct water, sewer, roadway, utilities, and lighting/signage plans, developed water and sewer utility as-built drawings, and used Storm CAD to create storm system profiles. In 2008, they took on a similar role as a Land Development Intern at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., where they researched innovative storm drain designs, conducted correspondence with companies, finalized NCDOT water and sewer encroachment exhibits and agreements, and completed exhibits for truck turn analysis, land acquisition, and utility layout. In 2009, they became a Civil Engineer at the South Carolina Department of Transportation, where they researched Watershed Modeling System, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, WinTR-55 software, created manuals and references for new software programs being implemented by the SCDOT, and worked with clients to ensure they receive up to date project information. In 2010, they joined HDR as a Roadway Engineer, where they served as the Lead Roadway Engineer on U-2827B/C-5620A - US 421/I-40 Business in Winston-Salem, NC. In 2018, they became a Roadway Engineer at Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC. In 2019, they took on the role of Senior Project Engineer at Whitman, Requardt and Associates, LLP. In 2020, they became a Business Mentor & Entrepreneur at Life of Lydi LLC. Most recently, in 2023, they joined Glydways as a Senior Civil Engineer, where they specialize in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of affordable autonomous transportation for low, medium and extremely high capacity needs.
