Freddy Villano has a wealth of experience in the music industry. Freddy began their career in 1993 as a Sales Associate at Sam Ash Music Stores. In 2004, they became a Freelance Writer for Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine. From 2008 to 2011, they were the US Artist Relations Manager for Warwick GmbH & Co. Music Equipment KG. During this time, they were also a Staff Writer for Making Music Magazine at Bentley-Hall, INC. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Freelance Writer for Bass Player Magazine at NewBay Media. Freddy also wrote for Bass Guitar Magazine (UK) at Future plc. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Freelance Writer for Premier Guitar. In 2019, they became an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tompkins Cortland Community College and a Freelance Writer for Bass Magazine. From 2011 to 2019, they were the VP of Sales, Service & Customer Support at Glyph Production Technologies.

Freddy Villano received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters from The City College of New York between 1998 and 2004. Freddy then attended the Musicians Institute, where they completed a Certificate of Completion in Bass Institute of Technology (BIT) from 1991 to 1992. In 2004, they earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Ensemble-based Physical Theater from Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre.
