Melanie K. O'Rourke

Melanie K. O'Rourke has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology field. From 2011-2015, they served as President of the Biotechnology Club and Lab Assistant at Santa Fe College. In 2015, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at Captozyme, where they were cGLP Certified through Biotility with University of Florida. Melanie K. then worked as an Environmental Analyst, Microbiology at BCS Laboratories, Inc. and as a Genetic Sequencing at National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). From 2017-2020, they worked as a Life Science Research Professional 1 at Stanford University, where they researched novel neurodegenerative therapies. Most recently, they have been a Lab Manager at University of California, San Francisco, where they oversee lab budget and fund allocation, track spending trends, coordinate personnel onboarding/offboarding, equipment maintenance, service contract and vendor account management, maintain lab inventory, implement optimized purchasing and receiving procedure, and schedule/coordinate lab events. Melanie K. is currently the Lab Operations Manager at Glyphic Biotechnologies.

Melanie K. O'Rourke has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Industrial Biotechnology from Santa Fe College. Melanie K. also has a cGLP certification from Biotility, which they obtained in May 2015.
