Nishant Choubey

Nishant Choubey has over 20 years of work experience. Nishant started their career as a Techno - Commercial Executive at HP Pelzer India Pvt. Ltd. In 1998, they joined Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd. as a Sr. Officer - Commercial, where they handled procurement of raw materials and managed the ordering and expediting of a cable project. In 2001, they joined India Foils Limited as an Associate Manager - Commercial and was responsible for procurement of engineering spares and led a purchasing and supply chain management project. Nishant then moved to Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd. as an Associate Manager - Commercial, where they negotiated contracts and managed procurement and contract management for a captive power plant. In 2005, they joined Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. as an Associate General Manager - Commercial and led contract negotiations and evaluations for power plants and expansion projects. Nishant then worked at Indiabulls Power Ltd. as a General Manager - Contracts & Commercial, where they led techno-commercial evaluations and negotiated contracts for power projects. In 2013, they joined Western Cluster Ltd. as the Head - Commercial and led negotiations for an iron ore mining project. From 2014 to 2015, they worked at SEPCOIII Shandong Electric Power Construction Corp. as a Sr. Commercial Manager - C&P, OBD, where they led EPC contract negotiations for power projects in various regions. Currently, they are working at GMR Energy Ltd. as the Procurement Lead and General Manager, overseeing the procurement of items and services for power generating facilities.

Nishant Choubey earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Raipur from 1989 to 1993. Nishant later completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Finance and Financial Management, Marketing Management from the School of Studies in Management, Raipur between 1995 and 1997. In 2008, they attended the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad for a short-term program in Contract Management.
