Saibal Mukhopadhyay has a strong work experience in the energy and natural resources industry. Saibal worked at GMR Energy Ltd. as a Vice President of Mine Management from January 2017 to present. Before that, they served as the AVP of Coal - Business Development from June 2012 to December 2016. Prior to joining GMR Energy Ltd., Saibal worked at Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Ltd. as an AVP of Strategic Planning - Mines from October 2009 to June 2012, and as a Senior General Manager from September 2009 to September 2010. Saibal also has extensive experience at Coal India Limited, where they held the role of Senior Manager from July 1990 to September 2009.
Saibal Mukhopadhyay attended St. Xaviers School in Durgapur from 1976 to 1984. Saibal then went on to study at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1986 to 1990, earning a B.Tech (Hons.) degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering.
