Kabir Lambo has a diverse work experience in various educational settings. Starting in 2014, Kabir worked as a College Adviser with the College Advising Corps, where they collaborated with staff and teachers to support low-income, first-generation students in their college journey. Kabir also organized an after-school program to assist seniors with college and scholarship applications, achieving a high FAFSA completion rate.
In 2016, Kabir joined Brooklyn Ascend Charter School as a Social Studies Teacher. Here, they developed curriculum and lesson materials, implemented differentiated instruction and core curriculum using scaffolding strategies, and emphasized social justice and project-based learning.
In 2018, Kabir transitioned to the GO Project, taking on the role of Director of Campus Instruction. Kabir ensured instructional staff had necessary resources and skills by directly coaching Head Teachers. Additionally, they created data-driven professional development and curated curricula that catered to neurodiverse learners and English Language Learners.
Most recently, in 2021, Kabir became a Lead Facilitator at the Center for Racial Justice in Education. In this role, they crafted interactive geographical map-based timelines highlighting critical moments from the Civil Rights Movement and conducted workshops to demonstrate the updated curriculum's effectiveness, showcasing pedagogical teaching practices.
Kabir Lambo completed their Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Africana Studies at the University of Rhode Island. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in History at Brooklyn College, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
