Smit Desai

Smit Desai has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Smit is currently the Deputy Vice President - Strategy & Corporate Development at Yubi since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager - Corporate Development at upGrad from March 2021 to July 2022. Before upGrad, Smit worked at EY as a Senior Associate- Investment Banking from June 2017 to March 2021. Smit also has experience at Deloitte as a Deputy Manager- Financial Advisory- Valuations from February 2014 to March 2016. Smit started their career as a Financial Analyst at Edelweiss Securities Limited in November 2012. Smit has also worked as a Management Trainee- Accounts at HDFC Standard Life Insurance from June 2012 to October 2012, and as an Article Assistant at Ashish Kamdar & Co., Chartered Accountants from July 2008 to January 2012.

In 2006-2011, they attended R.A.Podar College of Commerce & Economics and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a focus on Commerce.

From 2008 to 2011, they studied at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and became a Chartered Accountant.

Smit pursued further education in 2012-2014 at the CFA Institute, USA, where they obtained the CFA Level 2 qualification, specializing in areas such as Corporate Finance, Fixed Income, Portfolio Management, and Equity.

In 2016-2017, they attended Indian School of Business and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
