Emily Turner

Emily Turner currently serves as VP of Risk Management and VP, Head of Credit at GoCardless, a British fintech company focused on transforming B2B payments. Prior to joining GoCardless in March 2021, Emily held several significant positions at American Express from June 1996 to December 2018, including VP, Chief Credit Officer EMEA and International Commercial Payments, where credit risk management strategies for multiple business segments were developed across Europe. Previously, as VP, Chief Credit Officer Consumer and SBS Europe, Emily successfully drove account underwriting and credit strategies that spurred growth in the company’s largest region outside the US. Other roles at American Express included leadership in risk management for the US Consumer Business, where strategies contributed to navigating economic downturns, and overseeing credit evaluations and management for major co-brand portfolios as Director of Risk Management. Emily holds a Master of Engineering in Operations Research and a BA in Math, both from Cornell University.
