Vinay Patel

Vinay Patel has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Vinay currently works at GoCardless as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, where they led the formation of a Machine Learning Enablement team and is responsible for migrating machine learning workloads to managed Google Cloud services. Prior to this, Vinay worked at GoCardless as a Software Development Engineer III, leading company-wide migrations and redesigns for improved operational efficiency.

Vinay has also co-founded and served as a Tech Lead at iBluebottle from 2012 to 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Consultant at E-accent BV, where they upgraded the company's product portfolio and provided training on Extreme Programming best practices.

Earlier in their career, Vinay worked at the Government Digital Service as a Senior Ruby Engineer, contributing to the development of services to support publishing content to the GOV.UK platform. Vinay also worked as a Senior Software Engineer on contract at Friday.

Starting their career at Thoughtworks, Vinay held positions as a Senior Consultant Application Developer and Consultant Application Developer. During their tenure, they worked closely with customer teams, facilitated communication between onsite and offshore teams, and consistently received outstanding performance reviews.

Vinay's work experience began during their time at the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, where they were a Software Engineer in a student activity group.

Vinay Patel began their education in 1993 at St. Mary's School in Pune, where they completed their primary and secondary schooling until 2001. Following that, from 2001 to 2003, they enrolled at Fergusson College, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period.

In 2003, Patel joined Pune University and pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. Their undergraduate education lasted until 2006. After completing their bachelor's degree, Patel furthered their education by enrolling at the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research from 2007 to 2009. Here, they pursued an MBA-IT degree with a focus on Banking & Financial Markets.

In terms of certifications, Patel obtained the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification from Google in February 2023.
