Chris Woodbury

Chris Woodbury has over 16 years of experience in the field of information security. Chris is currently working as a Principal Security Engineer at GoFundMe, where they started in August 2021 as a Senior Staff Security Engineer before being promoted. Prior to that, they worked at Braintree (a part of PayPal) for six and a half years, where they held the role of Lead Security Engineer. In this role, they provided expert security guidance and led a team responsible for securing billions of payments per year.

Before joining Braintree, Chris worked at Trustwave as a Senior Security Researcher in the SpiderLabs team, where they contributed to the development of a proprietary network reconnaissance tool and vulnerability scanner. Chris also worked as an independent Security Researcher, collaborating with Nmap maintainers to integrate their improvements into the Nmap project.

Chris began their career at Crowe, where they served as a Senior Consultant in the Information Security & Privacy group. Chris was responsible for managing project teams and delivering a wide range of information security services to clients primarily in the banking and insurance industries.
