Alvaro Montenegro

Alvaro Montenegro is a highly experienced professional in the mining and finance sectors, currently serving as Co-Founder of Cheese Point since July 2019, where the focus is on promoting the consumption of mature cheese in Peru to enhance the handcrafted industry. In addition to this entrepreneurial role, Alvaro has been with Gold Fields since May 2010, holding various positions including Cost Controller, Project & Capital Engineer, Mine Supervisor, Cost & Production Supervisor, and Contract Administrator, where responsibilities have included financial modeling, budgeting, mine project management, and production reporting. Alvaro's academic background includes a Master's degree in Mining and Earth System Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, as well as certificates in Project Management and Advanced Studies in Finance, Accounting, and Economy.
