Roelof Niehaus

Roelof Niehaus is an experienced mining professional with a strong background in operations management and digital transformation within the mining sector. Currently serving as Mining Manager at Gold Fields, Roelof leads the implementation of advanced mining technologies to optimize operations at the South Deep mining operation. Prior roles include various managerial positions at Anglo American Platinum, where responsibilities encompassed fleet management, health and safety oversight, production optimization, and infrastructure development. Roelof holds a Master of Business Administration in Leadership & Sustainability from the University of Cumbria, a Management Excellence certificate from GIBS Business School, and a Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency. An undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering was obtained from the University of Pretoria.
