Cultural Consultant/Project Manager & Futures Creatives Fellow at Gold House Ventures

Jennifer S. began their career in 2016 as a Social Media Manager/VIP Relations at the Bentonville Film Festival, where they managed all major social media accounts and produced daily live streams and red-carpet broadcasts for panels, filmmakers, and talent as an independent contractor. Jennifer also partnered with event sponsors to communicate and execute cross-functional campaigns and strategies. In the same year, Jennifer also worked as a Coordinator/Assistant to CEO & EP, Jason Netter (Preacher, The Boys) at Kickstart Entertainment, where they managed three interns, calendar, travel, expense reports, office administrative tasks, contracts, and billing. Additionally, they coordinated meetings, accommodations, and materials for market activations and provided script coverage and notes on projects and helped with pitch development.

In 2019, Jennifer was invited by the KOREA CREATIVE CONTENT AGENCY to assess and support Korean animation creator pitches for Animation Boot Camp. Jennifer translated pitch decks from Korean to English, coached creators/producers on presentation skills, and gave project feedback for cultural accuracy and authenticity for 2019, 2020, and 2021 cohorts. In 2020, Jennifer worked as a Senior Manager, Industry Outreach at the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, where they conceptualized, lead, co-hosted, and produced the first of its kind Asian and/or Pacific Islander representation in media study and event. Jennifer was also the cross functional strategic lead and relationship manager on multiple projects to support internal and external partners and provided resources, reports, and consulting in areas of research, events, campaigns, and strategies to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in representation across all mediums of content creation in front of and behind the camera.

Currently, Jennifer is working as a Cultural Consultant/Project Manager & Futures Creatives Fellow at Gold House, the premier nonprofit collective of Asian founders, creative voices, and leaders dedicated to unifying the world\u2019s largest populace \u2013 Asians and Pacific Islanders \u2013 to fight for authentic multicultural representation and societal equity. Jennifer is part of Gold House Futures, an initiative to advance the success of emerging API creatives, entrepreneurs, and social impact leaders through investments with prominent partners, skill-building for successful leadership, and world-class mentoring from industry titans.

Jennifer S. has an MBA from Sungkyunkwan University and a BS in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.
