Shawn Walters

Shawn Walters has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Shawn is currently serving as the Director of Laboratory Services at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since August 2022. Prior to this, from May 2020 to March 2022, they worked as the Division Director of Laboratory Services at CHI Health.

From March 2019 to May 2020, they were an Operations Manager at ACCUMEN Inc., where they developed and provided oversight to operations improvement plans and facilitated lab process improvements.

During their tenure at LabCorp from September 2017 to March 2019, they held two roles. As a Regional Project Administrator, they successfully executed various projects and led cross-functional teams. Additionally, as an ISO 15189 Quality Manager & Molecular Operations Manager from February 2012 to August 2017, they managed the development and maintenance of the laboratory's quality management system.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Microbiologist at MVP Laboratories, Inc. from August 2010 to September 2011, where they focused on providing vaccine solutions and developing supplements for animals. Shawn also gained valuable experience as a Cytotechnologist at Physicians Laboratory Services, Inc. from May 2000 to June 2010, where they worked in various departments and specialized in screening for the Cytology department.

Shawn Walters holds a Cytotechnology Post Baccalaureate Certification from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, which they obtained from 2002 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences at Peru State College from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their academic qualifications, Shawn has obtained certifications in Laboratory Management University from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in January 2019, and as a Cytotechnologist from the ASCP in December 2003.
