Sophie Wheeler

Sophie Wheeler has over 24 years of experience in environmental consultancy. Sophie has worked in various roles, including Technical Director at WSP since 2023, Head of Transaction and Compliance at Golder since 2018, Senior Environmental Auditor at Golder from 1997 to 2018, Assistant Professional at Parsons Brinckerhoff (Rust Environmental) from 1994 to 1997, and Research Officer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs from 1992 to 1994. Sophie's work mainly involves conducting environmental and health and safety audits for a wide range of industries across Europe, including EHS compliance audits, due diligence audits, and cyanide code audits. Sophie has also been involved in project management and advisory roles in large corporate transactions.

Sophie Wheeler completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Coventry University between 1987 and 1991. Sophie then pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Land and Water Management Applications in Geographical Information Systems from Cranfield University in 1991-1992.
