Gopi Tammana is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in credit risk management and financial services. Currently serving as Managing Director, Chief Credit Risk Officer, and Deputy Chief Risk Officer at Goldman Sachs, Gopi leads a team of over 150 in a newly structured consumer business that includes the Apple Card portfolio and deposits. Previous roles at Goldman Sachs include serving as Managing Director for Marcus by Goldman Sachs, where Gopi directed first-line risk management and navigated the credit portfolio through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Gopi has also held significant positions at PayPal as Global Chief Credit Officer and at Citi, where responsibilities spanned unsecured risk strategy for 17 APAC markets and overseeing risk modeling for a $90 billion card business. Gopi’s background includes an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MS in Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Additionally, Gopi is an angel investor and advisor to multiple tech startups.
