Justin Coetzee

Founder at GoMetro

Justin Coetzee has worked in the engineering and mobility sectors since 2008. In 2008, they began their career as a Candidate Engineer at WSP, where they worked on the design office of the Mbombela 2010 Soccer World Cup Stadium, responsible for stormwater modelling of the ringroad network and assorted civils works. Justin then moved to Aurecon in 2010 as a Public Transportation Engineer and Planner. In 2012, they became an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Element Consulting Engineers, where they developed new business opportunities and grew a consulting order book across South Africa. In 2014, they founded GoMetro, a technology platform for smarter transport operations in public transport, commercial freight, logistics and service fleets. In 2020, they became the Director of GoAscendal, a global mobility advisory company founded by Ascendal Group and GoMetro.

Justin Coetzee obtained a BEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria between 2004 and 2007. Justin then went on to earn an MEng in Transportation Engineering from Stellenbosch University between 2010 and 2011. In May 2012, they were awarded a Professionally Registered Engineer certification from the Engineering Council of South Africa.
